Martek Engineering Works The Foundation of MMS Group
Established in 1971, MARTEK played a pivotal role in laying the foundation for what is today the MMS Group of Companies. Initially specializing in marine services such as turbocharger overhauling and engine parameter tuning, MARTEK quickly gained a reputation for excellence and trust among shipowners, handling increasingly complex assignments. This emphasis on training and innovation cultivated a legacy of technical expertise and operational excellence. The pioneering spirit and commitment to quality of MARTEK continue to resonate within the MMS Group, which now operates as a leader in the maritime industry through its companies Marine Management Services Pvt Ltd (MMS), Martek Marine Solutions (MARTEK) and Marman Engineering and Shipbuilding Pvt Ltd (MARMAN) MARTEK’s vision and foundational work remain integral to the success and values of the MMS Group today.
Concept of Flying Squads
A Revolutionary Approach for Ship Maintenance
Ship sizes kept increasing after 80’s. Innovation of “FLYING SQUADS” has been introduced into shipping to address maintenance schedules of all type of ships. Such “FLYING SQUADS” practices enabled the port stay of ships to be reduced, saving in standing expenses. CSM Cycles (Continuous Survey of Machinery) preparations & Dry- Dock Advance Planning is accelerated by “FLYING SQUADS” completed during sea voyage. Some of the Scandinavian and European Ship owners patronized this speciality. We are no more repairers but first-rate results-oriented troubleshooters & Technical Managers. Expansion into Crew Management: Our expertise extended beyond technical maintenance, enabling us to supply competent Marine Engineers and Navigating Officers for international Ship Owners. This diversification further reinforced our leadership in safety, man management, and overall ship management. The “FLYING SQUADS” concept remains a testament to our innovative approach, setting the benchmark for operational excellence in the global shipping industry.
